Final Send Off:

I really enjoyed making our product, looking back at it now I have learnt alot of new skills such as how to use After Effects and how to add filters to the footage. I also liked working with my group, I got to know my class members better and have now become friends. I would like to thank my teachers and the technicians for helping me in this project as well as guiding me through it and putting up with me 😅 I hope everyone enjoyed the project as much as I did, and I wish the teachers the best of luck marking their 100+ of students work.

Doing this project was both amazing and challenging at the same time.It took a lot of time and effort but seeing the final project made it all worth it.I have not only come out of this experience with great computre editing and filming skills but also with good team work skills and a better understanding of what it takes to create something as simple as a title sequence.I have truly enjoyed all of it even though some of it was hard like filming in the cold and having to do extra work at home but without it i wouldn't know my class mates as well and have people i can now call friends from it.Before starting this project i thought media was going to be easy.I was wrong. So to all the tecahers and technicians thanks for proving me wrong cause i have achieved more than i thought i could.

Evaluation of rough cut:

Overall, I belive that the title sequence was a success, because as a group we made sure that we filmed enough footage, even if it wasnt needed in the end. We didnt waste any time in the filming days, therefor we got to edit as soon as we finished filming, which gave us extra time perfect our rough cut.
Our footage is of high quality because we made sure that the lense was focussed as well as using fig rigs and tripods to make sure the camera was held steady and wasnt slanted in any way. We also made sure that the lighting was of good quality aswell. Not olny did we rely on natural lighting, but we also used the dedo lights to create sharp lighting, to enhance the atmosphere in the shot. We tried to be as creative as we could, by trying out different types of angles, which fit with our narrative and mise-en-scene.
As I was one of the people acting in the title sequence i cant help but say that me and Jayah performed really well, and tried to make it as realistic as we possibly could. The fact that i studied drama previously as a GCSE also helped me in my performance in front of the camera.
We chose to use an urban area to film our title sequence because it showed the 'dark' side of the great city of London, which is what we wanted to portray in my character.

Health check 1 and 2:

The reasons why I was behind in my blogs was because Ifound it hard to keep up with the constant blogging, as well as trying to stay on task with my other subjects as well. However, after these comments made by my teacher I realised that if i dedicated my lunch time and free periods into blogging, then I would be able to catch up- this is exactly what i did in the end.

Question 4:

An audience is a group of people who critisize the work of producers, who produce different types of media such as films and magazines. Our target audience was targeted at younger viewers such as teenagers because we knew that thriller films (our chosen genre), was very popular amoungst the younger viewers.

During production we used a range of technologies .During the actual filming we used digital cameras and lights and then when editing we used the mac's and went on Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects. When filming we used a Canon digital camera to capture our title sequence. We had to make sure we brought the battery and sd card or else the camera wouldn't work. The camera was easy to use once we did a tutorial on it and we pretty much just pressed the on button and sometimes zoomed in or out.

When putting all the shots together and trimming them down we used premiere pro.On premiere pro we did  not only grab shots from our video drive and import them into premier pro and then put it in order but also made the shots smaller so the time of the sequence wouldn't be more than 3 minutes .We also did some colour grading by going on the tab at the top called colour and then adjusting the brightness and saturation and making the shots either blue toned or yellow toned on the colour wheel on many of the scenes and added some effects to create smoother transitions by clicking on effects then transitions,.Another thing we did is add some diegetic and non-diegetic sound by going on the internet and looking for non-copyrighted music ,download them onto our video drive and import them on premier and also making some of the background noise in some shots louder by click on the sound lines under the shot footage and dragging the sound line up.

In after effects i created idents for my production company and distribution company called impact studios and zodiac productions.Me and my group also created credits and the main title on after efects by typing in what we wanted to be on the screen, chanding the font to Travelling_Typewriter in bold and then using the animation for text called Jiggy blured like in the movie seven and making the text white. Here is an image of the idents :

The camera was very useful because without out it there would be no title sequence to present. The camera captured every crucial part in the title sequence is making our storyboard come to life with actual moving images. It was very creative as we could change how we wanted to shot something like doing bird eye view or doing a close up and over the shoulder shots.

Premier pro on the mac's was also very useful as i now know how to edit videos down in size, colour grade, add effects onto videos and add music as background noise. It was overalll a very creative process especially the colour grading as you could change so much about an image and the title sequence would just be a bunch of clips because the one software did so much when i thought it could only trim down shots.

After effects on the mac's again useful as it created the idents which are at the beginning of the title sequence and also the credits which is the main reason for title sequences. It had a small paft of the creativity of the sequence but still played a huge role in at as we were able to make the credits move in a way that allows the audience to feel as though there watching a thriller.

The best technology i have found most valuable would be using premier pro on the computer because i already knew how to work a camera a bit but i didn't know how to edit at all and so i have not only discovered and learnt how to use a new software but personally i think masted it and did more than i thought i could. What i have learned about the important role of technology in the production stage is that you could make a title sequence without it and if they weren't invented life today would be different. Also that something as simple as a web app can make a big difference.

Evidence of editing rough cut 3

On Monday we added the rest of our  title credits to our sequence using adobe after effects. We did this by looking at Task 34 and looking at the order of the credits and then adding names in that order. We used the font Travelling_Typewriter in bold and to make it look more thriller like we used the animation for text called Jiggy blured like in the movie seven.

Evidence of editing rough cut 2

When editing our rough cut the second time we added sound and did some color grading which made the shots come together nicely and look more professional. We also cut the sequence down even more as we wanting it to feel more fast pace as its a thriller.Another thing we did is add our movie title to the sequence using adobe after effects in the Font traveling_typewriter in the middle of the screen in bold with the jiggy effect.

Evidence of editing Rough Cut

When First editing our rough cut we cut most of the shots down as there was a lot of them and they were quite long.We turned a 3 and a half minute title sequence to a just under two minute title sequence. We also replaced some shots we originally thought were good but found even better ones .
